Tax Clinic Volunteer Call-Out

Interested in tax season? Volunteer today with the APUS Tax Clinic!

If you volunteer through this program, you will receive appropriate training from the Canada Revenue Agency and the Association of Part-Time Undergraduate Students Union (APUS).

APUS Presents: Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP)

Program Overview:

APUS in collaboration with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) hosts an annual tax clinic and arranges for volunteers to help students prepare income tax and benefit returns for eligible individuals who have a modest income and a simple tax situation. Committed volunteers drive this program, and we seek about 10-20 volunteers to join our dedicated team.

Commitment: Available on February 26, 2020 for a volunteer training and must be able to commit to at least one shift per week (11am – 3pm or 3pm – 7pm) during March and April. The tax clinic is open from Monday to Friday in the North Borden building on the St. George campus.

Deadline to apply to be a tax clinic volunteer: February 6, 2020

Volunteer Position Summary:

  • Help clients submit tax returns using UFile software
  • Provide high quality customer service and support to all clients
  • Ensure all formalities and concepts are fully explained to clients during their appointment
  • Attend mandatory online training hosted by the CRA, as well as additional training provided by APUS
